Easy Ways to Remake Your Grandmas Recipes

Grandmas Recipe Remake

If you are a grandmother, the time of year can be an especially challenging time to make your Grandmas recipes. In the middle of winter, everything seems to be dry and it can be difficult to find the right balance of flavors for the food. Luckily, there are some easy changes that you can make in your favorite recipes to make them a lot easier to prepare and keep up with.

The most important part of any recipe is the spices. You may have tried each type of spice and liked some of them better than others. Many times, if you change up your spices a little bit each year, you will notice a dramatic difference in how your cooking tastes. This is because each season brings new spices into your kitchen.

If you are a bit slow on spice, consider changing up your favorite spices by just adding some of each. Sometimes a spicier spice can actually taste better than a milder spice, depending on the recipe that you are following. When you have time, consider trying a new recipe each year. You may find that a different flavor is what you like best each year. After all, you have probably tried many different combinations with your spices over the years.

If you are going to remake your Grandmas recipes, you may not want to replace each of the spices, but rather try to combine different types of spices. For example, you may not think that curry spices and cumin would go well together, but in some recipes, it works perfectly. You can even take a few spices from one recipe and add them to another to get a better combination.

You can use sweet potatoes in most of your recipes and then add cinnamon, nutmeg, or cloves. If you find that your sweet potatoes are too tart, add a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg to them to make them slightly sweeter. This makes it easier to balance out the sweetness in your recipe. If you use honey instead of sugar, you can get more of the natural sweetness without turning your sweet potato into a dessert.

Using carrots is also a great way to use a different spice each year. You may find that they have a bit of a bite to them, so adding a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg can make them much more appetizing. If you plan on making the recipe a long time, you can even roast them in a pan to give them a more intense taste. If you like them raw, add a pinch of salt to your recipe.

As summer comes along, you may find that you are more in love with the summer recipes. Instead of using your summer produce, you may find that you need more to put in your meals. Some of your summer recipes will actually be too much at this point of the year. For example, instead of eating a salad, try substituting a whole bunch of fruits and vegetables in with your traditional dressing.

By adding a few herbs, dressing mixes, or seasonings, you can create some great summer salads. You can create a nice balance between the old favorites and the fresh ones and still have the taste of a summer salad without having to add a lot of fruits. If you can’t find any summer produce, you can always add a few more items to your salads to give them a real kick. For example, instead of buying a lot of fruit and vegetables at the store, try a few strawberries or bananas for a quick fix. There is no rule that says you have to eat exactly like the traditional versions, but the main ingredients in your recipes will be the same so it’s easier to stick to what is familiar territory.
